Amanda Kan is the director of North Point’s Student Ministry. She and her husband, Henry, have a daughter, Meilyn, and they have been attending North Point since February 2015. Henry can be found playing the drums during Sunday morning’s worship service, and Amanda volunteers in the children’s ministry. Amanda graduated from Johnson University Florida with a counseling degree. She has experience working as a family consultant for teens involved with substance abuse, teaching visually impaired and blind teens daily living skills as they transition into adulthood, and as a first grade teacher at a Christian school.
The student ministry is for 6th to 12th graders. Our mission for is to grow “Deep in Faith” and “Wide in Numbers.” Currently, the students meet on Wednesday nights at North Point for Bible studies. They also attend conferences, and gather for special events throughout the year (game nights, outreach opportunities, and fellowship/unity building gatherings). For more information about our student ministry, contact Amanda Kan.
Upcoming Events: February 21, 28th @ 6:30 PM at North Point Christian Church MAKE IT A HABIT: A 4-WEEK SERIES ON SPIRITUAL HABITS In February, we will be focusing on four spiritual habits to help students grow. The four habits we’ll cover are Spending Time with God, Spending Time with Others, Sharing Your Story, and Using Your Gifts. By introducing these habits to your students now, we will help set them up for a lifetime of spiritual growth. We will discuss all these spiritual habits, and study what scripture has to say about them.
Also, students will be given opportunities to spend time with God on their own with a 30-day devotional. This will be handed out on Wednesday, January 31. For students who cannot make it that Wednesday, there will be copies available on the Student Ministry Table at North Point. This devotional will guide them through four easy-to-follow sections including, Pray, Read, Do, and Remember.
