Tom Underwood
Lead Minister
I moved to Tallahassee January 1, 1984 to begin ministering to this great city! In 2013 I felt the "nudge" of God to revisit a passion I had before moving to Tallahassee, and that was to plant a new church. After deep prayer, a small group began meeting on June 9th and then we officially launched North Point Christian Church on January 12, 2014. It has been amazing to see what God has done in just a few short years!
On a personal level, I have been married to my wife, Lynn, for 34 years. We have two children: our son Josh and his wife Hillary, who have blessed us with three grandchildren, Cole, Ella, and Noah; and our daughter Jessica, who is married to Jake, blessing us with a granddaughter named Ivy. College sports (FSU), fishing, ribeye steak (with Texas Roadhouse yeast roles), and family is my passion. I wake up everyday thankful to be a part of this wonderful church and can't wait to see what God will do next!
Jake & Jessica Allred
Jake and Jessica are the Student Ministry Directors at North Point Christian Church. They recently got married in December of 2022. Jake is originally from Missouri and has been in Florida for the past 15 years. Jessica was born and raised here in Tallahassee. Jake has a 6 year old little girl.
Together, they have 2 dogs, Lola, a Yellow Labrador, and Magnolia, a Golden Retriever. Both Jake and Jessica have a passion for the youth and are very excited to be joining NPCC as the youth directors!
Student Ministry Directors
Amanda Kan
Amanda is the director of North Point’s Children’s Ministry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from Johnson University and is a certified Parent Coach with Connected Families. At North Point Christian Church, she serves as the Children’s Director, where she teaches Connected Families courses to support parents on their journey. In addition to her work with the church, Amanda is available for one-on-one parent coaching.
She brings a diverse and compassionate background in education and family support, including experience teaching in a first-grade Christian school classroom and instructing teenagers who are blind, visually impaired, or living with various disabilities in daily living skills. Amanda has also served as a family consultant at a substance abuse center for teens, giving her a unique perspective on supporting families through a wide range of seasons and challenges.
Children’s Ministry Director
Josh is the worship leader at North Point Christian Church. He and his wife, Hillary, have been members of North Point since it started and Josh loves leading worship each Sunday.
